CIRCULAR ON TEMPORARY CHANGES TO CONSULAR SERVICES PROVIDED TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC
In view of the Government of Ghana’s latest travel advisory regarding the closure of all its borders, air, land and sea to curb the importation and spread of the global pandemic, Coronavirus (COVID-19), members of the General Public are advised on the following changes to Consular Services provided by the Ghana High Commission in Canberra:
i. All visa Services are suspended until further notice. Updates will be provided through this same medium as and when required.
ii. Passport applications are also suspended due to the closure of the Passport Office in Ghana. Services would resume when the Passport Office in Ghana reopens.
iii. Applications for all other Consular Services apart from the two mentioned above would be received by the High Commission and responded to appropriately. Slight delays are however, to be expected due the current situation.
2. For very urgent enquiries, emails may be sent to email@example.com. Applicants who need to speak to an officer at the Consular Section may leave their mobile numbers in an email and would be called back within 24 hours.
3. In compliance with Social Distancing Protocol, Members of the General Public are advised to as much as possible to email their requests (apart from visa and passport services which are on hold), rather than visiting the High Commission in person
4. The High Commission is counting on the maximum cooperation of the General Public in these exceptional times.
