The Ghana High Commission invites applications from qualified persons to fill a vacant position of Receptionist/Accounts Clerk at the Mission immediately.
The Vacancy is for a full-time 9am to 5pm, 40 hour week employment on a contractual basis not exceeding three (3) years. The contract is, however, renewable based on performance and other considerations.
Applicants should have appropriate security clearance and an immigration status that permits him/her to be engaged for employment immediately and must be ready to undergo further security checks.
Applicants that possess previous work experience in a related position will be at an advantage.
Summary of Duties:
i.Provides assistance to the Accounting Officer on the preparation of payment vouchers;
ii.Sorting out and arranging tax invoices and bills;
iii.Reconciling tax invoices/bills for claims from ATO including medical claims/refunds;
iv.Assists with duties during official events such as receptions, cultural events and trade exhibitions, etc.;
v.Facilitates contacts for the Head of Mission and other Officers as and when required;
vi.Providing assistance to the Consular Officer in areas to be decided by him/her;
vii.Assists in the preparation of accounting returns, and
viii.Performs Social Secretarial duties as would be directed by the Head of Mission;
ix.Receptionist duties including receiving mails and delivering same to the Confidential Secretary;
x.Handle in-coming and out-going calls;
xi.Any other duties that may be assigned by the Head of Chancery.
Duty post is the Ghana High Commission in O’Malley, Canberra ACT.
