Diaspora Affairs

The Government of Ghana has introduced a national diaspora project to formalise its engagement with the Ghanaian diaspora, for effective migration management and national development planning.

The project is aimed at providing a sustainable link between the Ghanaian diaspora and various government agencies in Ghana towards national development. In line with this objective, the High Commission of Ghana in Canberra has established a Diaspora Affairs Desk which will operate under the direct supervision of the Head of Mission.

The Diaspora Affairs Section will be responsible for promoting national diaspora engagement with the various Ghanaian Associations and Professionals within Australia and the countries of concurrent accreditation. Its other objectives include the creation of a diaspora database, engagement with Ghanaian professionals for national development, awareness campaigns, research and co-ordination with migration and development stakeholders.

To enable the Mission to create and maintain a database of the Diaspora community in Australia and the other countries of concurrent accreditation, it would be appreciated if you could complete the survey form.
